Calibration Block for Quick Master Articulator
Technical Instructions
Quick® Master articulators are entirely manufactured by CAD CAM process. Consequently, the positioning of the mounting plates allows for the interchangeability of mounted models, from one articulator to another of the same model, within a tolerance of ± 0.03 mm.
The only setting to be adjusted is the anteroposterior alignment of the upper element in relation to the lower frame. Using the Calibration Block (QM 1600 M), it is possible to check or reset your Quick® Master Articulator to the factory setting in less than two minutes.
- Loosen the condylar ball locking screws with a hex key, and set the incisal pin to “0”.
- Slightly move the condyle balls a few millimeters back and forth, ensuring that they are free moving.
- Mount the Calibration Block (both upper block “a” and lower block “b”) to the articulator. Close the upper element of the articulator until the tongue of block “a” slides into the groove of block “b”.
- Using light pressure, slide the condylar ball to contact the Bennett angle wings.
- Tighten the condylar locking screws. Block “a” should slide into block “b” with no interference.
- Remove the block “a” to ensure that the upper arm of the articulator has no lateral play. If it does, repeat the procedure.
